Luxemburgish pianist, Pascal Meyer studied at the Conservatory of Luxemburg
with J.Hilger, at the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in St.Petersburg with
Leonid Tamulevich and finally obtained his Master's Degree at the
Conservatory of Amsterdam where he studied with Jan Marisse Huizing,
Håkon Austbø and Jan Wijn.
He was prizewinner of the Luxemburgish National Competition For
Young Soloists in 1997 and 1999, each time winning the gold
medal with the unanimity of the jury. He was finalist of the
Silvio Bengali Piano Prize in Italy in 2001 and was rewarded
with the Fonds Stelmes Prize in 2004.
During masterclasses, he worked with other masters such as
Benjamin Rawitz, Evgeny Moguilevsky, Ton Hartsuiker, Vladimir
Tropp, Robert Nasveld, Nicole Henriot, Bernhard Wambach,
Claude Helffer, Pavel Gililov, György Nádor and Lazar Berman.
Since his debut in 1999, he regularly plays recitals in Luxemburg,
but also performes in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Irland,
Spain, Germany, Slovakia, Tunesia and Japan. He has played
as a soloist with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Luxemburg,
the chamber orchestra The Sebastian Strings in Brussels,
with the Musique Militaire Grand-Ducale in Luxemburg and the
Solistes Européens in Bratislava.
He played with conductors such as Jack Martin Händler,
Mark Foster and Sylvain Cambreling and has worked with
composers like Robert Nasveld, Camille Kerger, Claude Lenners,
Mauro Lanza, Marcel Reuter, Yan Maresz, Emmanuele Casale,
Michael Riessler, Toshio Hosokawa.
Next to his activities as soloist, he forms a regular duo with
violinist Anne-Marie Volten, he is part of the N-Trio (with
bass-clarinetist Carlos Galvez Taroncher and flutist Mike Schmid),
the Alea Pianotrio, plays with Xenia Pestova in the pianoduo Pestova/Meyer
and has joined the Luxemburg-based modern music ensemble United Instruments of Lucilin. |
